I was curious if there was anyone else on LJ that was in KDP, and look at what I found! : D

My name is Heather and I'm a Senior at Central Michigan Univeristy and this is my third semester in KDP. I'm the fundraiser chair and I plan on being it again next semester!

I'm a Math Secondary Ed major and a Visual Arts K-12 major with a concentration in Photography. I will be Student teaching in Spring of 2008 in Perth, Australia.

I was really curious as to how other KDP's were run... Are you like social sororities/fraternities where you have big's, lil's, initiation being a big thing, pledge period a big thing and stuff like that?
Or is it like ours were we just have e-board and the other active members?

Glad to be a part of this!

for my unit on Italy, the students are going to make a model of either the Coliseum or the Leaning Tower of Pisa. when i went to wally world tonite, i realized that this is going to be very costly. i wouldn't mind even $20 for a class, the problem is, 4th grade is departmentalized, so i have to take care of 84 students in my college student budget. any ideas for cheap and user friendly ways to make models?

hi, i have been in KDP for almost a year now at Warner Southern.
i am doing a unit on Italy for my internship. the focus of the unit it travel. i am planning to "travel" with the students to several key cities in Italy like Tuscany, Sicily, Venice, Rome, Turin, and Milan. i am planning on having them fill out an information sheet that they are going to put in their passports. right now i am at a loss of how i will teach the information from these cities and have a creative block on some fun activities i can do with the students to help them understand these cities. any ideas? thanks

Hi Everyone,
I'm CherylAnne and I was initiated into KDP May 2004. I'm a grad student at Teacher's College. :) And, I have a question...
I'm currently in one of my two student teaching semesters and I'm having trouble with validating incorrect answers (according to my supervisor). Anyone have any scripted ways of steering a student with a very wrong answer in the right direction without making him/her feel terrible?

Hey, I'm Ashley. I'm a junior at Ohio Dominican University, where we just installed a new chapter of KDP last semester. We're currently working on getting our leadership positions established, and we've also started setting up our committees. It's going to take a lot of work, but we're excited to start getting our chapter up and running!

Hi all,

I am student teaching in a 3rd grade classroom. They get 25 minutes a day, two days a week in the computer lab. We want the students to get practice with math and reading to reinforce classroom work and to prepare for the upcoming ISAT testing (Illinois test for NCLB). Does anyone have any recommendations for good web sites that would give quality practice to these students. The students span the spectrum in terms of intelligence, but the vast majority of them are at or below average in terms of current achievement. I plan on looking myself, but I thought I would ask around, too.

Hello! My name is Emily. I'm trying to achieve Member at Large membership from Kappa Delta Pi. Is anyone else a Member at Large on here? I have a few questions about it. I am about .04 away from the GPA cut off. Will that be a problem? Please let me know so I don't look like a dork to them. *laughs*
